I have this little feeder oh my kitchen window, right where I wash prepare food, have my morning tea, and wash my dishes.

All day long my feathered friends visit, grab a seed, and take off. The birds are used to me now and don’t mind me standing there, and each one brings a smile to my face. I’m often up before sunrise, before the birds, and as dawn rises I’m sometimes there to witness the early bird – the first bird to the feeder. I use this feeder, but there are many other types to choose from.

On of my other favorite things is the heated bird bath that I take care of. I have a long extension cord, and chose the thermostatically controlled heater that only goes on when it needs to.  My backyard is a very popular gathering place for the local wildlife. Now with this light coating of snow I can see all kinds of little footprints leading up to the bath. Here’s a link to the heater that I use. Even on the colder days, the birds love to bathe. One time when the water had gotten low, there was a mourning dove sleeping on the heater. Awww…

I see my offerings as a way of saying thank you for the joy the creatures of this world bring me. If you’re prone to the winter blues, I’ll suggest that helping our feathered friends getting through it will bring you moments of joy.

Peace, and by the way, there will be no changes to the schedule for the holidays, and the next two Restorative Yoga Immersions will be on Sunday January 15th, and February 5th. 2:30pm – 4:30pm. If you’d like to join us, email me to reserve a spot, or you can sign up online at my Events Page

Take care,  and I’ll see you in class.
